I use this blog to display my photographs, share an occasional rant, and experiment with blogging. I’ve been around cameras all my life but for the most part, never liked photography classes much. Perhaps it is a sign of my impatience but going digital really helped my photography skills. Being able to receive instant visual feedback after taking a photograph helped me learn manual settings in a way that film never could.
I received my first digital camera around 2000, a 2 megapixel Olympus C2000 with 4 & 8 MB SmartMedia memory cards. The battery life was measured in minutes, not hours. Since then, I’ve owned many other cameras, leaning toward Canon for ease of sharing lenses with my father. Currently I shoot with a Canon 1D IV and Fuji X100 which is my small always-have-with-me camera. I can’t live without my wireless Eye-Fi memory card, in fact I sold my Canon 7D partly because it could not accommodate SD memory cards.
